The Prehistoric Temples of Malta

There are an extraordinary amount of ancient Temple sites on the tiny island of Malta, and nobody can explain why. Dating back to around 4,500 BC, they predate the Egyptian Pyramids and are the oldest man-made standing structures in the world. Of the 50 or so known sites, about 10 are still in an amazing state of preservation.
I have created several series of paintings and resultant exhibitions based on the Temples over the years - I find the mysterious atmosphere in them endlessly inspiring. I am in the process of revisiting the theme once again, and am very excited about it, especially as this time I will be able to share them with you as I create them. Please go to The Wisestones of Malta to see my work in and around this fascinating and absorbing subject. I also have prints for sale on that site.

Meanwhile, here are some paintings from past series -
