Back in Malta, still landing....

After three weeks of holiday in the UK and USA, I think it might take a while to get my feet back on the ground. I had never been to America before, so the flight alone was an experience..... and then- America!

Austin Texas to be precise. I was visiting my friend the artist Bruce Bingham in her new home. We didn't actually paint much but we had a lot of fun visiting art galleries and museums.

 What hit me the most were the signs though - and the sense of crazy humour everywhere.

 Shops so packed with Things that it was almost too much to take in, and the overwhelming friendliness.

I had intended to blog while I was away, but it didn't happen.

Now back to earth and getting myself in gear again. The Malta Arts Festival begins soon, and then the Malta Jazz Festival, so I am looking forward to painting there as usual. 

I have a collection of paintings hanging at Palazzo de Piro in Mdina until the end of August. It's such a great venue - do pop in if you can!

 I was too busy taking things in to put anything out..... and that included a very special red wine called Sexual Chocolate as well as grits, meatloaf, chicken fried steak, corn dogs, frozen margueritas..... all those things I'd heard of and never tasted. I didn't even know what they were!
